What microphone should I buy for all my vocals?

What microphone is used in recording R&B/Pop professional vocals?

• I make and record music as a hobby. The quality of the sound is good, but I want to take it up to a professional level. I have an inexpensive microphone (Samson CO1). I purchased if for around 100 dollars 3 years ago. I have a larger budget now and I want to buy the best microphone available to record vocals. I am looking for the mics that R. Kelly, Chris Brown, Neo, Beyonce, and all of the major recording artist use. What should I buy.

  The mics they use are very very expensive. Models like the Neuman U47 and AKG C-12 cost over $12,000!!!!!!! There are options though. The Audio-Technica AT4033/CL is a good choice for around $300 and if you have even more to spend, you can find a AKG414c on ebay for between $600-$900. The 414 is a mic that's used by professionals all over the world. Good luck!
