How can i learn to sing?

im an 18 year old girl and i was wondering if there is a way i could learn to sing. i have an ok voice cant say its great but is there a way i could make it better and learn how to sing hopefully within a month. i want to learn before my best friends birthday party. a few of my friends are going to play music and i am going to sing her a song. So i realy gotta improve my singing. Any ideas how?

What I would do is get a bunch of songs you like and sing to them. Whichever song you can sing better too, you just keep practiceing too and then you sing that song at the b-day PARTAY!
