Answer:
1) Take deep breaths before going on stage 2) Don't drink or eat anything immediately before singing 3) Practise a few notes and scales with your voice 4) Feel what you're singing and express the song's emotions ... even the lousiest singer can wow an audience if they attract their attention towards their highly expressive face that covers up their singing 5) Always try to sing the sing in a pitch that you're most comfortable with so that you don't get uncomfortable with extremely high/low notes 6) Enjoy yourself and don't give a damn about what people think!!! Most of them probably can't sing anyway ....

You just have to get yourself into a relaxed state and try not to worry. The more often you do it, the more comfortable you will become. Don't worry about what others will think because its out of your control. Relax and just do your best. It will also help to start out singing in front of friends and gradually increase the size of the groups of people you sing to. This will help you to gain experience and confidence slowly. Everyone gets a bit nervous. I have been playing for years, but still get a bit nervous each time I hit the stage. The best thing to counter this is to do whatever you can to increase your confidence level. It is really important to take deep breaths and RELAX. The more relaxed you can get yourself, the better your performance will be.
Go get hypnotised! I did for my nerves, and, well, you should see me now! XD
Nervousness and anxiety are profoundly helped by relaxation, and learning to be calm. There is no doubt about this - a relaxed body (and mind) cannot be tense and nervous for they are physiological opposites - it is impossible to be relaxed and anxious at the same time. Everybody gets nervous ... It's a part of being human and it usually happens in specific circumstances, things such as: interviews, tests, dating, sports competitions etc. The reason it happens in these situations is that they represent a 'performance', a 'having to do well' with the possibilty of failing if we don't. And so, self-doubt creeps in: What if we can't do it? What if we don't do well?
I have a few suggestions. 1.) Sing into a tape recorder and let people listen to your tape. So you are "kinda" singing for them and it will help relax the though of singing in front of people. 2.) Sing in front of just your friends a couple at a time or family members and build your way up to more people? 3.) Ask your doctor for some Lorazapam or Xanax for a short period of time. I have an anxiety disorder and that takes care of it for me so I imagine if you had a xanax you could sing in front of a mob and wouldn't mind a bit lol :)
Take deep breaths before you go on. Remember, the people there WANT you to be good. And sing before an audience often. Nothing lack constant exposure to get rid of those nerves.
That's a tough one. I was the same the first time I was about to sing in front of others. What worked for me was just sucking it up and getting on with it. Afterwards, I felt a bit silly for making such a fuss with myself. Maybe you should just go for it? Hope this helped.
Some nerves are good the adrenaline can help you reach the high notes and so on. If you get too nervous, just dont think about the people, only concentrate on you, try and just float with your voice and feel the music.
Close your eyes and just get lost in the music.
I have never done this before ....so forgive me if im wrong but heres what I would do .... picture yourself and not the people ! be confident and not so nervouse just so you can get the whole thing over with...if you still have nerves take a moment and calm yourself down with some cold water and if you have to talk to someone to help you boost your self up a bit . Its all in your head when that happens just trust yourself to know that youll get through.
