How do you Record a Good Quality Song?

I would like to record guitar covers?

• I have recently gotten into playing guitar and i have learned a few things i would like to record. My laptop has a webcam. Is there a program that is preferably cheap that will record visual while playing a song with it on the guitar? I dont think the quality will be too good if i record using the microphone, so is there a converter for the jack or a special kind i can buy? and if so where could i get one and for how much?   Well here is a few things you are going to need to start recording yourself (for your own publication) either Audacity (Preferably for quick recording) http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ or LMMS (this is a complicated program in my opinion so if you can find something easier to use like Acoustica and want to pay for it go ahead but LMMS is free) http://lmms.sourceforge.net/ also for recording you can use a Rock Band or Guitar Hero microphone into your USB - its one easier way to do it. As for 1/4'' to USB you can use an interface like this: http://www.guitarcenter.com/Behringer-Guitar-Link-UCG102-USB-Interface-241228-i1175566.gc For video you can just use a regular camera and record yourself playing and line up the song with your recording and there you have it.
