What are some good jazz, R&B and soul songs to play?

The Greatest Musician of All-Time?

  • -Buckethead I've never heard anyone play music as astounding as this man... It's almost not human, it's supernatural and divine... Like he's able to channel into a higher consciousness of the divine and project music of Heaven or a higher realm into his soul. The style of which he plays and executes notes through his guitar is unworldly and perfectly accurate. I listen to all genres of music and I've never heard any other musician as spiritually inclined as this man; he truly is phenomenal. He embodies so many different genres of music and styles into his songs. His fretwork is incredible; perfect, almost as if robotic or supernatural. He puts so much energy, passion and intensity into his music, he literally brings the guitar to life, something I never thought possible. His music doesn't have any vocals, only instruments but he plays the guitar as if he's speaking to your soul. His technique, style, speed and accuracy of which he executes notes is FLAWLESS! I spent the past couple of days listening to one of his shreds he performed on a song a soundtrack... I would repeat it over and over in sheer awe of his raw talent and ability... I've heard a lot of incredible guitarist but this guy seems to be the best. Even his live shows are very eccentric and elusive, he moves robotically, systematically and grazes throughout the entire show while wielding pure energy, confidence and passion in his music. Buckethead's true name is "Brian Carroll" I've been trying to do some research on this guy but he keeps his persona and life completely shielded and hidden. He doesn't speak. He's created this alter ego and does interviews through a puppet he calls "Hermie"... I must say this man is the ultimate Troll and no fool. I've studied and listened to his music, the man is sheer Genius at his art. So many different styles ranging from classical, alternative, metal, depeche mode, techno, house music, progressive metal, funk, blues, R&B, soul, jazz, bluegrass, ambient, and avant-garde music. I haven't heard anyone that comes close... If you've never heard of him there are plenty of his solo's on youtube... Some notable ones are. 1.)"Dimebag Tribute Song"... It's unworldly. 2.) Welcome to Buckethead Land 3.) The Redeem Team 4.) Destroyer 5.) Lotus Island There are so many more.. I highly suggest Youtubing his solo's... He plays like he's from another dimension. If I were to choose one, it would probably be Maynard James Keenan from Tool. But some notable people for me would also be James Hetfield, Dave Mustaine, and Mike Portnoy

The top five are just your fav,not all time. Real greatest musician is Michael Jackson. He's ok, but that's reality.

The greatest rock musician of all time is Neil Young.

Neil Finn, nuff said, such a horribly underrated, yet brilliant musician, ahhh so sad :(

Is this a question? No, it's not. In fact, there's not a single question mark in your little rant there. (TLDR BTW) So I've marked it as spam.

Yeah. He's pretty amazing. MJ's the king though:/

my dad is the greatest musician ever

Louis Armstrong

I really like how you're so into buckethead, he's also one of my favorite musicians. I don't know what I think is the best musician. I really like Dave Mustain, Les Claypool, Joe Satriani and Jimi Hendrix also a lot. Peppers Ghost is my favorite album of buckethead.
