Who are the illuminati?

• I know they are a secret cult/organisation. I know that many people believe they use people like eminem, jay z and lady gaga. I know that people think they killed 2pac and michael jackson. Why do they do this? who are they? I don't really believe in them, I think if there was really a secret organisation we wouldn't know there name, let alone eveything about them. Also, I am an intelligent person, I am also an atheist.
