Keep in mind though that touring plays a huge role in a musician's fame. Play as many shows as possible..it will increase your chances of getting spotted by the right person. Also, have you heard of this site? http://www.jeejuh.com/forum/ It is the number one hip hop community on the web. The forum has a section where you can promote your own music. The site has over 40,000 members and is free to join (this is the obvious market you want to reach..so this should help).
