EM is making a strong case. He is self-contained: producer, lyricist, and songwriter. Coupled with high selling strong concept albums he is on his way to being the best. His greatest competition have questionable areas that threaten their legacy as the GOAT: LL Cool J's 27 yrs of artistic accomplishments are tempred by critical indifference to recent albums. Rakim; the architect of EM's whole career has suffered from solo material that hasn't stood up to his legacy. Kanye string of critical and commercially accepted albums make a strong case but its too early to tell. Jay's dominance is the only thing stands in his way; Jay's wittiness/concepts are tempered by his skill in not writing songs down; a gift that is also his achilles heel in the fact that some songs are great, some are fair, some are good affecting his themetic impact. However Jay's redefinition of an artist brings him over the top though at times he is better known as the hustler-businessman than as a rapper. Tupac makes for a strong case but as years go by his candidacy fades despite his artistry. EM makes a strong case in the fact he remained consistent and improved on his body of work...
