If anyone has any songwriting tips such as how to write lyrics in an interesting way or how to develop an idea?

let the music come from how you feel. Anyone can make a rhyme but its the artistry of putting emotion into words that creates something amazing. I make music myself and my best and most unique song i have made were when i was sad, joyful, in love , and out of love because these moments i felt passionate about . so try to do the same and this should help you alot.

Before you write a song, write a story. And by that I mean, plan out an event in your head, based around a character/characters, etc, etc, line up a plot, and set the wheels into motion, then write about what happens to them in said story. Write that into a song. You can also write past experiences into a song, using it in a story perspective, or write a song about someone/something else that's already been written (See Creeping Death by Metallica) Writing songs about ideas or feelings tends to make them sound weak and frail, unless you know EXACTLY what you're trying to express. However, writing a song about someone going through those feelings/having those ideas is much easier, and sounds a lot more solid. Seriously, the best way to go about it is to develop a story first, then write the song around it.
