  Webkinz is a virtual pet world that children can access for free after purchasing a plush Webkinz pet. Children earn Kinzcash for playing games, completing jobs or selling some of their items. Webkinz also has a Curio shop manned by a dog named Arte. Arte will offer you money for any gems you find when you go gem hunting. You can choose to keep your gems, or sell them to Arte. Difficulty: Moderately Easy Things You'll Need Webkinz account Instructions Log in to your Webkinz account on the Webkinz homepage (see resources). Click on the tab that reads "Things to Do" in the bottom right-hand corner of your screen. Select "Curio Shop" from that menu. Click on "Gem Hunt" to go mining for gems. Arte will show you what the Gem of the Day is. If you find the Gem of the Day you will be offered a larger sum of money than you would for a regular gem. Click on the map that says "Start Hunting." You will now be able to choose from five different mines: Buried Bones Mine, Flea Floater Mine, Muzzle Mouth Mine, Howling Mine and the Barking Mad Mine. You can only hunt for gems once per day so choose wisely. Click on "Start Mining" and choose a rock to break open. You have three chances to find a gem and then you will be taken back to Arte. Review Arte's offer for your gem. If you want to sell your gem to Arte, click "Sell Your Gem." You can only sell the gem when Arte presents the offer. After that you must keep the gem.
