  • im learning a cover of this song on piano...and i was gonna dedicate it to my mom, whos diagnosed with cancer..the doctors have given her 40 days to live...and within that...im planningto play&sing this song for her.. its called "angels on the moon" by thriving ivory.     Sorry its so long but i hope it helps. Also im very sorry about your mom, best of luck! This song touches me. I feel like this song is about the depth of life and death. "I want to feel all the chemicals inside" means the chemicals that make up a human brain. Chemicals in our brains are responsible for happy, sad, etc. feelings and I think he is saying that he wants to feel all of the feelings...good and bad. He is appreciating life...having a sunburn is a miserable thing but he is looking at it as if he feels the sunburn then he knows he's alive. When he says "Do you dream that the world will know your name" I think he is saying that we all fear that when we die we will be forgotten. We all want to feel like we matter. "do you care about all the little things or nothing at all" ...what I get out of this is do you think about all of the little things that most people take for granted, the little things that would go unnoticed and unappreciated....or do you feel like everything is for nothing...nothing on this earth matters because it is temporary and caring about anything is a waste of time (two ways to see life.) "This is to one last day in the shadows (while we are on this earth we will not know the meaning of life or the answers to all of the questions we have about life so while we are alive we are "in the shadows") And to know a brother's love (I think this was a personal note about the writer's brother who passed away) This is to New York City angels (9/11 deaths) And the rivers of our blood (Could mean military deaths from war) This is to all of us, to all of us" (we are all going to die) "Don't tell me if I'm dying, cause I don't want to know" Reminds me of the Matrix movie, where he had the option to take the blue pill or the red pill. This song is amazing because it touches people in different ways and people get different interpretations out of it

to me its about just living for today, and not having a worry about tomorrow cause you never know how it will end, in the begining of the song its about someone who wants to make a big impact on the world, but then later seeing whats really important 'dont tell me where the road ends cause i just dont want to know' he means that he does not want to know when the end will come, as he just wants to see today for what it is 'when he says hes dreaming of 'angels on the moon' he means hes dreaming of heaven where everyone you know, never leaves too soon - like a place where no one dies (heaven) i actually do think this will be a great song to play, but it will be a real tear jerker so you should expect a few tears from everyone, but i think it will mean so much to your mom if you do end up playing this song, i definitly hope all goes well

This song is about living for the sake of living, and living as if you'll never die. I wouldn't play this song for a dying woman but the sentiment if sweet. I'd play a feel-good song unrelated to death. I'd recommend you find out her favorite song without asking her and then surprise her with it.

I love that song, it's beautiful. I think it's like you know you're dying, but don't want anyone to tell you and about going to heaven. That's the message I get from it. I give you and your Mom the best of luck :)

This is such a beautiful song, and I think that it is so sweet that you want to do something so special for her. I think that you should prepare to break down when singing it, but if you can get through it, she'll be forever grateful...by the way, I interpret the song as wanting to live life spontaneously...instead of always knowing the outcome--and it may not be favorable--the song says to live the best life you can without expecting anything...really beautiful!
