How to stop watery eyes fast?

How can I stop eyes deteriorating?

• I'm 21 years old, and have had glasses for 6 months. My eyes had been deteriorating since I was 18, but glasses we're not necessary until last year. Recently I returned to my optometrist to find out about getting contact lenses, and was told that contacts aren't a possibility because of my astigmatism. I was also told that my eyesight in one eye has deteriorated rapidly in the six months since recieving my prescription. My optometrist recommended laser surgery and I'm interested, however my eyes have to remain at the same prescription for 3 years, and if my eyes continue to deteriorate there's a possibility that one of my eyes will be too bad for laser surgery within a few years anyway. Glasses are a pain in the butt in my line of work so I'd love to be able to ditch them. Is there anything I can do to help maintain the eyesight I have now? I'm not fool enough to think I can make my eyes better, but not making them worse over the next 3 years would be good enough for me.

  My opthalmist suggested multivitamins and lutein as well as a healthy diet including oily fish and green veg to preserve my eye health as much as possible (I have retinitis pigmentosa). Also if you smoke then stop now as it's associated with losing vision. And protect your eyes from strong sunlight with sunglasses.
