Do you have to call after sending an application?

After sending in an application, when would it be appropriate to call the company regarding employment?

  • Would 48 hours be acceptable? Or should I wait 72 hours until I make a call? I have all of the dates of when I applied written down and have a short, uniform message of "I am very eager to begin working for you and I was hoping to hear from you. May I possibly speak with someone about an interview?" when I call? How long should I wait? If you could, would you please edit my message I have written down so it sounds top-notched and well worded?

You should wait one week. In the mean time apply for other jobs. Finding work is a numbers game. The more places you apply to the sooner you will find a job. Good luck!
