How will we find a place to stay for a few weeks until he makes enough money to rent an apartment?

My unemployed husband and I are about to relocate to charleston, SC due to a job offer that he cant turn down. This is also a place that we have visited a lot lately, so we are familiar with the area. We live in the upstate of SC. Problem is, we dont have very much money to pay for a room for a few weeks until we make enough to either share an apt with a roommate, or get our own. We only need a few weeks, to a month tops. I believe that we did the right thing by getting a job first, then move, because we dont want to end up homeless of course. As I said, we live in the upstate and there are NO jobs in what he's qualified for. No jobs up here period! He was laid off from his last job of 2 years, and before that he had worked a job for 15 and a half years, and laid off one day. So this is a good job offer for him that he cant miss. We are not worried about moving our stuff yet, we can do that after we are established in a home (its only a 4 hour drive) and we have people to help us. My question is, what can we do about a place to stay? even if its just a motel room, a place to come in and sleep and shower and get ready for work is no problem for us. Look for a hostel. Hostel.com or try couchsurfing.com you crash on someone's couch (for free) for however long. check the person's ratings to make sure they are safe. i did it with 3 friends all over europe. the people are super nice and the creepy ones always have bad ratings. good luck!
