What career should go for?

What career should I go into?

  • I've struggled trying to figure out what career I should go into for as long as I can remember. I started college as a communications major, but then last summer I changed it to English with an emphasis in professional writing. I'm the kind of person that finds something in many aspects that I love. I love to read, I love astronomy, I love fashion, I love interior design, etc etc. But I can't find something that I'm able to solely focus on. Very frustrating, especially because I'm half way through college and I still haven't decided. I really want a career that I'll love but will be very rewarding financially. Unless I write a smash hit novel like Harry Potter, then I don't see any well-paying career coming from an English major. haha. I also want to remain in the West Coast. Any insights or suggestions would be very appreciated. Thanks.

    In the end you will have to decide what's best for you. Many college studets do not know waht they want to do until many years after they graduated. One of my children gradutaed from college and went from job to job before getting a master's in teaching and started teaching. The best bet for you would be to go into a general dircetion such as a bachelor's of Art in Business. You can f do a lot with that degree. Good luck whatever you decide

Marketing or graphic design sounds like your nitch. Also, maybe public relations? I would try to get an interview with an employer in any of the fields your interested in so you can get a feel of how it would be to work in these industries on a day to day basis.

Marketing could be good. You will have the potential to make a lot of money and can use your writing and creativity. With marketing you can try to work for a fashion company or another company that interests you.
