What does my "cover letter" in my resume need to have?

Do I need to hand in a cover letter with a resume, and any resume writing tips?

  • I'm basically applying at every store at my local shopping center, I really need a job, preferably at a clothes store. Ive made a resume but I'm not sure how good it is, or how to make it stand out from anyone else's to get me the interview. Any tips on resume writing? also, should I hand in a cover letter as to why I want that particular job? any suggestions are great! thankyou

I have read up on a ton of resume writing tips, and they all say that it makes your resume more professional if you use a cover letter. You do not have to, but if you want yours to stand out, I would def use the cover letter as an advantage.. Researching to update my own personal, I found a website that has a specific section just for resume writing with lots of examples, tips, and information that would be helpful to ya.. Good luck!
