What career path should I take?

• I'm in my 4th year of high school and I really need to figure out what I want to do with the rest of my life. The closest thing to what I want to do is event planning. I don't know what it is exactly that I want to do, but event planning has all the aspects I want in a career. However, the pay is iffy considering you do not get a solid income, especially if you own you re own business. So, what I'm wondering if anybody out there has some career options for me. Something I've skipped over, or something I haven't heard of yet. Any options are very much welcomed A little bit about myself (to help you understand what career would best suit me): - people-oriented, love socializing, very comfortable around crowds - strengths in writing and designing. not a very strong drawer but can visualize easily - love to take charge, be my own boss - highly dislike mundane/repetitive tasks - LOVE to travel, but would not like to travel away from home very often as i plan to have a family so please! any career options from the information i just gave you would be GREATLY appreciated!! all answers are much help, thanks to anyone who responds!

  I don't really have a brilliant answer for you, but I can tell you for sure that ALL jobs have mundane aspects. In the most dynamic, exciting positions there are little "housekeeping" tasks that must be done. Also, as you begin a career you're more likely to be assigned those sorts of tasks than people who have lots of experience. Remember that you're learning, don't let obstacles like that keep you from learning a job. Heck, I worked as an ER nurse for many years and someone has to restock the shelves and change the bed linens after all the fireworks are over!
