How easy was it to get a job before the recession.?

    About 2006ish I was looking for work and had agencies ringing me up trying to convince me to take their job and that this job was great and they really wanted me to start ASAP, so I had about 3 that I had to choose from, just snapped my fingers and walked straight into a great job. Last year was looking again for a job and have to bang down agency's doors to get them to even put me up for a crappy job that I could do in my sleep. The difference was so ridiculous!!!
