How hard it is to become an electrician?

How can i get an apprenticeship to become an Electrician?

  • I am asking this question to working Electricians in the UK, particularly in or around Newcastle, I have just left school at 17 as i wanted to pursue a career in the Army, but i am sadly unable to enlist due to a previous history of Asthma (too strict, in my opinion) I had thought about what careers interest me other than the army and an Electrician appealed to me the most, I have done research on becoming an Electirican and every suggestion starts off with getting an apprenticeship and also going to college through that apprenticeship, but i have no idea how i would go about getting an Apprenticeship and that is the question i would like answered, from a working Electrician preferably in Newcastle (as that is where i live) How would i go about finding somebody/ a company to bring me on as an apprentice?

  • Answer:

hi mate i would suggest you send letters to every company that's local to you or go to there business address show your keen. offer to work weekend or couple of days to prove you want job.

If you look at the website below it's for Newcastle College on the front page there is a link for apprenticeship's. If you click on that it should give you the info you need. It is also worth giving them a ring to set up an appointment so that you can talk through the course you think is suitable.
