Is social work a good career?

im thinking about going to college for social work. . and many people say it doesnt make alot of money. i just want to know from a social worker if the career is good enough to help support a family and bring in good money.

expect very low pay for amt education required. The field is hyper competitive with a ton of applicants for each opening. So expect lots of rejection before getting a job.
The pay isn't great considering you'll have a degree. On the plus side, if you take a government position you'll have decent benefits and very little chance of being fired or laid off.
