How does standby work with airlines??

How to work for UPS airlines ground operations?

  • I just quit my job at an FBO in Lexington, Ky due to the travel distance. I would like to work in Louisville for UPS doing ground operations (marshalling aircraft, fueling aircraft, push-back/towing). I have don all this stuff before but am tired of the general aviation bullsh*t. does anybody know who does all the ground ops for UPS? If UPS employs there own ground people, where do I apply for the job? I have checked the UPS website and there is nothing about it at all. I was re-fuel/de-fuel certified on the following airline planes: Crj Erj MD-88 DC-9 B717 B737 B757 B767 B777 so I know the jist of fueling large aircraft.

  • Answer:

Yeah i would say right now you may have to wait a while or wait until seasonal to apply because it would be very difficult to get into that position unless you know someone that is working there and see if they are hiring but i suggest you may have to wait till october when they may be hiring for seasonal and then possibly be left on after that, I mean you could call but i suggest you call now since it is not their busiest season
