How to make a cover letter if you apply as a dental assistant?

Give a mark out of 10 and some feedback for this cover letter?

  • Hi everyone! I'm sixteen and this is my first cover letter which I am sending to a couple of boarding kennels in my area to ask for a kennel worker/assistant job. Please rate it out of 10 and give some sort of feedback or improvement suggestion. Thanks! Example Kennels and Cattery Example Lane, Town, County, Dear … (I don't have a contact name, what address shall I use?) I am writing to enquire about a possible position at Example Kennels and Cattery as I am passionate about a career working with animals, especially dogs, in a boarding kennel environment. I believe that your kennels would offer me the perfect start to my career while simultaneously giving you a responsible, reliable extra pair of hands who is willing to cover any and all aspects of the job. I am applying for a basic kennel working position so I can get the appropriate experience of the hard work needed at the beginning of a career to make it successful. I am willing to work over most of the half-terms, Christmas and summer holidays and, as I will be beginning Sixth Form on the 4th July 2011, I hope I can then work for you more in my free periods. Enclosed is my curriculum vitae for you to read and I sincerely hope that you will find it acceptable enough to invite me to your kennels for an interview. As I have lived with animals for most of my life, I have developed a real enthusiasm of caring for them. I want all animals to be safe, healthy, well-looked after and I believe your kennels can offer me a brilliant insight into how I can better make this happen. My goal in working for you is to help make your kennels an even friendlier, happier place for the pets that stay there. I have good confidence with most dogs, as I lived with a chocolate Labrador for the majority of my life and I think that this will help me project the safety and assurance of your kennels to other people, perhaps even increasing your market share of the local area. Thank you for taking your time to read this letter and I hope you go on to investigate my curriculum vitae. I will be pleased to provide any additional information you may require to ascertain that I could improve your kennels by working there and I look forward to meeting you, should you wish to arrange an interview. Yours respectfully, Thanks for answering! Any feedback is appreciated! xx

Other answers

its fine only small matter 1) brilliant could be replaced or removed 2) brilliant insight could be replaced by further my experience 3) no need for chocolate unless colour dictates a labradors temperament 4) dear sir / madam yours faithfully 5) references possibly guides / teachers only minor points and very impressive cover letter for your age .

i just sorta skimmed it over and it sounds pretty professional to me but maybe you should include your experience with animals...maybe if you took the job of watching over neighbors' pets or walked dogs and such. hope this helped!!!
