Question about background check?

Background check question?

  • Unfortunately as a kid I stole 10$ that a customer left behind in a self check out at a grocery store. When the customer came back for it, I denied seeing it at all. When they interrogated me the next day, I ended up confessing and handed back the money. Out of shame I quit the job that moment. Several years later, today, I just had a third interview that went well for a department store. They said they would contact me after the background check went through to tell me if I was hired or not. How can I access the information about my background regarding the grocery store incident to see what it might say?

  • Answer:

That would not show up on a background check. A background check would show things you went to JAIL for, or if you were prosecuted for - and no one is worried about 10 dollars. the store you worked for must have been a wonderful place to go every single day if the grilled you about 10 dollars. Don't sweat it, Hope you get the job.
