It's great that you know what kinds of fields interest you but the next thing you need to look at are what subjects were you good at in high school. Another clue would be what kind of things you like to do in your spare time. Do you prefer working alone or as part of a group? Are you more of a leader or a team player? Another thing you might want to do is do research about the different career fields you are considering. Do you know anyone who currently works in any of these fields? If so, you could sit down with them and talk about what they do or maybe spend a day with them to see what it's like. There are also tests you can take to learn more about yourself and what you'd be interested in such as the Strong Campbell Interest Inventory, Myers Briggs, etc. If you are still in high school, you could ask your guidance counselor about taking these tests (or any others available). You may also want to visit http://www.wetfeet.com to get an idea of what a certain career is like and what it entails. You're at a great stage of your life where you can really take the time to explore different options so enjoy this process of discovery. Good luck!

If I were you, I would just do research about all those careers you mentioned. Make sure after you graduate you find a job in YOUR city. Also, definitely check how long would it take you to get to that career, you're not gonna become a homicide detective right away, you'll start somewhere way lower. Remember, there's more to a job than what the tv shows, they only show interesting parts that are way too dramatized. Also, decide how long you wanna stay in school, become a pediatrician is nothing like becoming a zoo keeper (do you even need college for that?) And last but not least, MONEY. I know it's all about doing what you love, and that's what I majored in when I went to school, but believe me 10 years from now, if you're not making enough money with a career you love, you're not gonna love that career. Good luck
