London Casual Street Fashion?

Does this sound like a good enough CV to apply for a fashion buyer's admin assistant job?

  • I have a degree in fashion design with business studies I have completed a work placement in London for a high end designer (not related to buying I know, but there was some admin work) A short course in Buying and Range Planning from the Fashion Retail Academy 3 years shop floor experience for a high street retail fashion brand Passion! Does this sound good or not enough? I have no buying experience, although I would love to get one I just don't have the money/rich parents to go to London to do another unpaid placement! Any tips would be greatly appreciated. I hope to apply to graduate training schemes for high street fashion retailers.

  • Answer:

Look! A CV is a Sales Document and as such, must sell you to a potential employer. On that basis it has to be "Fit for Purpose". I am a little unhappy with regard to all the advice given, even though it is usually well intended. I have been teaching employment techniques for 18 years and heve written a very successful lesson on CV writing practice. If you would like a copy (its long and full of helpful information) I will send you a copy free of charge and even help you to finalise your CV, again free of charge. I am retired now and have a lot of time so would be happy to help. [email protected]
