Can HR contact you after?

Should I contact HR about a possible mix up?

  • I'm not sure what to do, as I'm afraid of looking unprofessional. So I had been talking with a recruiter and an HR person for a particular company for about a month. I had been discussing 2 different positions within the company and decided one was a better fit for me than the other, so that is the one I applied for, I will call this position CAM. The other one was VRM. Anyway I get an email later saying I wasn't selected for the vrm position, but that is not what I applied for. In my cover letter I even stated the cam position. So I was wondering if I should contact the HR lady I had been communicating with and ask if there was a mix up or if I should just let it go?

hum, calling wouldnt hurt but just take the position... talk about the details when you file paperwork

The fact is that you were not selected for employment with that company. If they erred in writing VRM instead of CAM on the turn down letter, it is of little or no significance. You still weren't hired. If I called anyone it would be the recruiter, but it certainly won't hurt anything to call the HR manager. Just don't expect a favorable outcome from the call.

I would definitely give her a call. If she made a mistake, you need to tell her, before someone else is picked for the position. Make sure you call rather then email, it's more professional and will eliminate any further mistakes from being made.
