How can I get a clinic job as a nurse right out of college?

I am in college for nursing, but I don't want to have to go get a job right after graduating?

• I've always wanted to take year off for a little soul-searching. Ever since I was in high school, I've wanted to get random, off-the-wall jobs to learn about life outside school and the money cycle. For instance, I've always wanted to work at the Eastern State Penitentiary or something like that during their haunted walk season, setting up, cleaning, scaring people (or not), getting totally exhausted. But I've not had the time since it's in the fall. I was always in high school, and now I'm in college, and once I graduate I have to find a job quickly or hospitals look 'break time' as laziness or like I'm not taking the initiative or something. So I look at it as, "Wow, I will never be able to do that without dashing my chances for my real career down the road." I think having a manual job, like working late nights as a roadie for some bands (they don't have to be big names, underground is just as awesome) and setting up and moving **** around, would be cool for a little while, like a year after I graduate college. Don't get me wrong, I love the nursing profession, the medical field is amazing! Blood and guts don't bother me, I want to eventually work in the ER or with Medevac, where there's never a dull moment, saving lives and stuff. I feel like though, if I go right to work after college, I'm sort of contracted with them if they pay for grad school or insurance or something. But if I don't, then I'll never get hired by a good hospital... I guess I'm just sick of the mandatory cycle you know? What would you suggest I do if I want to explore my life before being stuck in the system? (-_-")
