Does Target drug test new employees?

What happens if I fail a drug test for Target?

  • I'm a minor (just recently turned 17) and I was about to fill out an application to work at target as a cart attendant. My first question is, will they drug test me? I know I won't pass it if I take it now because the last time I smoked was just two hits and some second-hand two days ago. Btw I am going to quit because I want to be able to get a job. Also, what will happen if I fail their drug test? Will they tell my parents, file charges against me, or just not give me the job and shut up about it? So Will they drug test me (a minor)? What happens when I fail the drug test?

  • Answer:

if you fail obviously you won't be hired, they won't tell your parents nor the police.

If it company policy to drug test, they will drug test you even if you are a minor. If you fail, of course you will not get the job, but you may be permanently blacklisted from ever working at Target. They won't tell your parents, but you've come to come up with a excuse why you didn't get hired, since the drug test is the last thing that companies do before you are hired (in other words, if you pass, you've definitely got the job). Your parents aren't dumb- they'll figure it. The best thing is to wait a month and stay straight before you apply for the job (unless they do hair strand analysis instead of urine tests) or apply for a job somewhere they don't test.

You won't get the job
