"Great paying" and "associates degree" are two phrases that generally don't go together too well. Sorry, but that's the way it is.

Something vocational, like a xray tech, or IT. But these aren't great jumping off points for higher education. Get your bachelors, and you the door will be open to go in any these directions.

Depends on your definition of "great paying" - if you are talking $75,000 and above, you are also talking 10 to 15 years of experience to augment the Associates degree. The median salary (according to payscale.com) for a person with 20 years experience and an Associates is $50,000 (this means that 50% make less and 50% make more). Obviously, some careers will pay more - high paying, long experience jobs (10 years to 10 years experience) paying more than $60,000 are computer software engineer (senior), project manager, IT, and financial counseling. Note that to be successful in these careers, you have to continually upgrade your skills through additional training, so you probably end up with the equivalent of a bachelor's degree.
