I hate my job now what should I do?

Help! What should I do with my job? I really hate going to work.?

  • ok here is my story...I work at a hospital as an EKG tech. Basically I watch patients heart rhythms throughout my shift, and my job is full-time Night shifts. Nights are 7pm-7am and let me tell you they suck! I got this job about 7 months ago it seemed like a pretty good idea at the time...the first week i started i seriously didnt see myself making it over 3 weeks but i did. I know the only reason i stick around is because the pay is way better than any part-time job at a fast food place or other places ive worked at in the past. Now looking back i realize i had so much fun working at a restaurant than i do working at a hospital. I have a big family that i live with and a busy life because of them and also trying to go to college full-time so this job has really became a drag to go too. Honestly i have started to hate my job. I hardly get sleep and when i do its on my days off. I wanna quit i really do but i just found out im expecting so i need to have a job...but i want a job i will enjoy you know? what should i do honest answers please :) thanks!

I don't know what your benefit situation is as far as if you are paying for your own health insurance or if you are on someone else's policy, but now that you are pregnant (congrats!) you need to think about the baby. If you are paying for your own insurance, it's in your best interest to stay put until the baby comes. At a new employer you are probably looking at at least a 90 day waiting period to qualify for insurance, and you need to be seeing the doctor for prenatal check ups regularly. Because it is also significantly more money, I think it would make the most sense to stay there until the baby is born and then after your maternity leave look for a different job you will enjoy more. Jobs are hard to come by right now, and if it takes you awhile to find a new job, you will be visibly pregnant, which may also make it harder to get hired.

Go back to the restaurant.

if it wasnt for the fact that youre pregnant, i would say find a job u like more. but being pregnant makes it a million times harder to find a job because employers know that either you just want to job temporarily to help save up for the baby and then leave or they think crap! im going to hire this person but then have to put up with dr appointments and maternity leave ! so either way, they wont hire you. plus if you already have ensurence through ur current job, maybe u can stick it out a little longer so that ur job basicaly covers ur medical bills. but keep ur health in mind. it probably would be the best idea to switch to dayshift because being pregnant requires lots of healthy sleep. talk to your doctor about your situation. im sure he can lead u in a good direction
