Are you hired for sure after a job offer?
-
This is my first time getting a job offer. It is a job at cisco and I can't believe it. I got the offer over the phone. It was the recruiter who gave me the news. She emailed me a welcome package with documents to read and fill out. After passing background and sending papers back, is the job really mine? I'm asking because they want me to start on the 14th so I gave a two week notice at my current job. I'm afraid I resigned and don't get the other job.

Answer:
Sounds exactly the way a professional, legitimate job offer would happen. CONGRATULATIONS on your new job!!

I'm going to assume you interviewed for this job in person at Cisco; if so, and the documents sent seem official, then once you fill them out and send them back, you ARE hired. But if you didn't interview in person, or not at Cisco, then I would be a little suspicious that this might be an ID theft scam.
