Should I quit my job and become a full time student?
-
I've had a dream to become a junior high or high school teacher for about 5 years now but my financial situation has never allowed me to pursue this goal. I have a Bachelor's Degree but need a Teaching Certificate which I could obtain in about a year if I was a part-time student. Problem is, I can't afford it. I work full time so don't qualify for pell grants and defaulted on my student loans so can't get any more. Please don't judge me, I'm barely surviving as it is and just can't afford to pay them right now! I have a decent job but I'm just not happy. I'm talented at teaching and have long thought it's something I would enjoy. At my job, I'm literally barely making it with no money to spare. At this rate I'll never accomplish my dream. Should I quit my job and become a full time student? I think I would then qualify for pell grants, hopefully enough to pay for all my educational bills. Would it leave me enough to live on as well, though? I'd appreciate some advice, please! I know what my dream is, I just do't know how to get there! All I know is that I'm very unhappy in my current situation and wasting my talent. I feel like I'm just stagnanting and wasting time. I want to start a career, not just keep floating from job to job to survive. Thanks! 1 second ago - 4 days left to answer.

Yes, if you don't like something, change it. Take out student loans, even as a fulltime student it's possible you could fit in a part time job in your schedule to help with payments. Why would anyone judge you? You're trying to accomplish your goals, you're an idol. Sorry I can't really help that much.
