Do you enjoy your job as a paralegal?

Should I quit a rubbish job I enjoy and start a great job I probably wont?

  • I recently started a retail job (£4.65 PH) as a temp but have been offered full time and although I didn't want to do it, I really enjoy it. For the last year I have been unemployed looking for my dream job in estate agency and today I was offered the job but since getting the other job I don't even feel happy about it, but it's something I have wanted for years. I really don't no what to do. I don't no if I'm ready but when will the opportunity come by again?

  • Answer:

I,say, follow ure haert,u know best, and what someone can tell u can still drive u away from the answer u choose.i say,do what u feel is best.good luck.

I've come to the realization that no matter how much you get payed, if you are not happy with the work you do then you never will be. I've always looked for the higher paying job with perks and benefits but now would settle for taking less pay if it meant I were to be happy getting up everyday and going to work.

Go for the great job, if it doesnt work out, turn around and go back to the old one. Good oppotunities dont come forever.

I am speaking from experience not working in the beginning of my journey in the field as a nutritionist but part time at a bank in operations performing customer reconciliation of client accounts. I worked in this position for six months and was hired as a permanent employee then moved to the pension department. It was a wonderful experience which was challenging and ultimately lead to me working in many departments i.e. accounting, institutional custody (dealing with major Banks in the US, non profits etc. I expanded my knowledge, the bank paid for my education, and got a degree in fiance eventually promoted to Vice President. The bottom line is the dream of being a nutritionist was no longer my passion. In our journey sometimes we discover after work, volunteer or intern experience that the career path originally chosen is not what we want anymore. Just as in our personal life we change our minds i.e. having children, a house versus apartment, marriage, where we live etc. The decision is ultimately yours it appears the reason you are hesitating about accepting the dream job based on the comment i.e. "I don't know if I am ready" is that there is some fear on your part which is a normal reaction when faced with new challenges. Please don't allow fear to be the determining factor, which was not my reason, move past the fear and decide if you still want to work in this field. I recommend you check the website http://www.allagents.co.uk/ which contain company reviews/ratings on the best and worst rated agencies in the UK to determine if the company you will be working at is a solid reputable firm i.e. a well established business, treatment of employees etc. Additionally you can check a website called i.e. http://www.glassdoor.com/Reviews/ to determine employee feedback, if any, on a company by entering the company name. Good Luck!!!
