WHAT SHOULD I BE WHEN I GET OLDER? JOB IDEAS? 10 POINTS?
-
Hi, I'm only a teen and just can't decide what I should be when I get older. I know I have plenty of time, but Some suggestions would help. Maybe, a job that's interesting and something that I like. :) I was thinking something on the lines of: *Doctor -neonatologist(Prematures and Ill infants_ -Pediatrician(Kids up to 18) -oncologist (Cancer Doctor) *Psychologist *Some kind of Designer? -What kind of designer? -If clothes, what age? *Store Owner? -What kind of store? Suggestions? Please anything helps, even off the lines, kinda strange jobs, I'm kind of undecided.

Answer:
Be an entrepreneur, you sound creative :) a) Use your computer to make flyers, print them and go door to door in areas where you'd like to work. List all types of jobs you could do: babysit, host home parties (Tupperware, Avon, etc.), run errands, take down holiday lights, etc. Include a phone and email or other ways to reach you. Having at least a one-page website could help, too. Make these easy and cheaply at GoDaddy.com (their Website Tonight or Quick Blog packages are cheap and easy to set up). And since people hiring sitters, especially, may like to see background info, head to career/ job sites like the one linked below to help you post a resume (it's never to early to start one) and write a nice cover letter to take around to introduce yourself at interviews. Plus have someone quiz you on the top 5 interview questions asked (they are on the site). And do some homework on what's best to say, how to dress, etc. b) Since it's winter, head to Odd Lots or other wholesale type of place to see about getting plastic door hanging bags in bulk or even cheap baggies of some type to place your flyers in so they don't get wet outside. c) You can also shrink your flyer when you print it, so that 2 flyers fit on 1 piece of 8.5 X 11 pager to save money. Don't use colored inks, either, just black ink. Using colored printer paper can be creative and cheap, like getting a ream of green or red paper for Christmas flyers or red for Valentine's Day, etc.. d) Also post your flyers on bulletin boards at local stores that allow this like hardware stores, Target or Meijers, etc. e) Places free classified ads out there, esp. on Craigslist. f) Use social media (it's free) with your mini-site (above) or just to tweet (Twitter) and post info on Facebook about your services to people in your area. Have your suburb, city, state in messages, for instance. g) Network: tell everyone you know you are seeking odd jobs and give them flyers to share with other people. This often opens lots of doors. h) Research how to start and grow a business - online or off- with the skills you already have. Many teens today even do this successfully. You could work from home online selling your stuff (like web designs or ecommerce stores and web graphics, writing or data entry services) or other people's stuff (aka affiliate marketing). There are tons of library books on this topic and Entrepreneur sites / magazines, etc. Start on a shoestring budget, even just part time. Pass out flyers (door to door) locally telling people you can help with babysitting, yard work, car washes, cleaning, etc. Look for online research, data entry, etc. projects to do on freelance contractor sites like Odesk and Elance. Get organized and plan your own strategy using tips from above and others you find helpful here. Then do a little each day to "grow" your own service biz). OK, here's to your success!

What ever interests you. Doctors ear well, so do psychologists. My mom is a designer, clothes for all ages. She LOVES her job. If store owner, maybe a clothing store, jewelry store, or make-up store. But of course it depends on which kind of person you are. It's hard for us to help you choose what you want to do the rest of your long life, when we don't know you :)
I love him.
I would choose a interior designer or doctor. My two dream jobs are daycare and scientist.... Pretty different! :)
