Visable tattoos and going to be a nurse, how much respect will I get? Scared?
-
I am planning on becoming a LPN (lisence practical nurse) and I havUe visible tattoos. 1. Leopard spots coming up from my shoulders to neck, so the spots willbe showing about a 1inch or 2 on the back of my neck. The word AMEN in script on my inner right wrist and a angel wing on the right thumb connecting to the wrist. I don't find my tattoos degrading yet my mother a RN says I pretty much screwed my chances of having any respect as a nurse. Anyone know more about this tattoo issue in the medical area?

Answer:
Older patients will either be put off by them or fascinated. Younger folks will get it and probably not even really notice. Depends if your boss or supervisor has negative feelings about tats.
