Which is a better minor to go along with accounting?

Any good advice on which "area" of accounting I should go to school for?

  • I looked into accounting as a career online awhile ago but SO many options regarding accounting popped up. I'm looking more into the business type environment that deals with paperwork, mathematics, organization and professionalism... any advice on which area of accounting would best suit what i'm looking for?

    well u would have to take the beginning of like all areas early on. like microeconomic, macroeconomics etc etc. so then u can see which you really want to go thru with. you should get a good taste of all areas when you start the major.

what i'd do is find out which comp u want 2 work 4 & THEN find out what they need. u should B able 2 gain advice from there

Public accounting will give you a broad background and you'll get to work with many different clients to see where you may want to go next. You'll of course need to get your CPA or else your pay will suffer and you'll be doing much of the mindless stuff. Be prepared to travel, and while that may sound romantic imagine going to Nebraska in January ( or anytime of the year for that matter). Most locals are not glamorous.
