What are the chances of getting a job at ymca?

How can I better my chances of getting a job?

  • I'm currently a college sophomore and I haven't been able to get any job experience. I live on campus in the dorms, but I'm not eligible for any of the on-campus jobs because I'm not eligible for work study. While I have my driver's license, I don't have a car (I can't afford one). When I tried to get a part-time job last summer, I applied to over 30 places, but I didn't hear back from any of them. I don't have a criminal background, I don't do drugs, and I have a nice enough GPA (3.5), so I'm fairly certain that it's either my lack of experience or the fact that I don't have reliable transportation that is preventing people from hiring me. I just really need a part-time job. I'm willing to work for minimum wage in the food industry, in retail, in pretty much anything that's legal. How can I increase my chances of getting a job?
