What should my resume include?

What should i include in my resume for work-study job?

  • I'm starting my freshman year at Florida State University in the fall. As part of my financial aid package i received work-study. I've chose all the jobs on campus i want to apply for and i have the email contacts to set up interviews. Now i would like to send a resume attached in the email but im not sure what to include other than previous job experience (i've had 3 jobs) Since i will be a freshman in college should I include information about highschool, like the fact that I graduated *** Laude or like club participation? what else should I include in general?

  • Answer:

It is important to list your skills as well as your job history. It is understandable that your work history is short because of your age. You should think about what you learned in those jobs, what responsibilities you had, and relate it to the job responsibilities that the hiring manager is looking for in an employee. Example: Are you dependable, trustworthy, timely, outgoing, disciplined, honorable, determined, self motivator, individual contributor, work well in groups or individually, have you worked in a diverse group of people, do you work well with others. . . Hope it helps!
