Administrative clerk for a restaurant?

Advice on where to work in a restaurant? (*10 points*)?

  • So I'm having a little dilemma involving two restaurants that have called to interview me -Chili's Bar & Grill and Harlan's (a local restaurant in my area). Both seem busy-oriented and good restaurants but I don't know which to work at, though Chili's is fancier and more prestigious in the area but it's farther. Harlan's is most reputable for its breakfast and diner (and quite older). For my past work experience, I've worked in a grocery store (and still am employed) at HyVee as a clerk. I've noticed that right NEXT to Chili's there is another HyVee store, and I was thinking at one point that if I get hired at Chili's, I could tranfer to HyVee too and work both jobs. However, I've been told its quite hectic if I do though, so maybe that's not a good idea. I recently just graduated from high school and I'm just planning to take online general classes at community college. So today I have an interview at Harlan's this evening, and tomorrow I have one at Chili's next morning- should I just choose the one that I like best? I'll be working at a hostess/server, I think, because I've applied as those positions, so I'm not entirely sure of the pay yet. Any advice would be much appreciated! :)

  • Answer:

Whichever makes you feel most welcome on your interview would be your ideal choice. You can learn a lot from an interview about the place.
