What is the legal age to get a job in Pennsylvania?

I'm fourteen and I really want to get a job. ****Help!*?

  • I don't want a job babysitting or mowing lawns. I want to apply at a couple of stores/resturaunts that aren't specifiying what age they want to work. On some of the applications they ask if you are 18 or over, and if you are 16 or under. I know this is probably an indication i won't get it but is there any hope of getting one? Also, I have very good grades and references. My mom is also willing to drive me to and from work. My parents are also going to get me a work permit. **I live in Pennsylvania and I have been told that you can get a job at 14 with a permit. What other places do you know of that would hire?

  • Answer:

There are plenty of potential issues for minors in work, many of them law-related, parents want to be careful about that. There is plenty of guidance from the resource in the box below on this subject, they also have guidance for all peeps who are looking for work, or who want to change careers.
