After LLM, what are job prospects?

I'm worried about my futrue job prospects, what to do?

  • Hey all, i'm currently quite worried about my future job prospects and what i'm going to do with my life as a feel like i have wasted alot of time. I'm currently in my final year studying for a degree in History and am busy with the amount of essays that i have to do, my degree is important to me and i do try hard but i do not believe am going to get a good grade, maybe a B or a C. The problem i am having at the moment is paid employment because even though i am 20 years old i have never really worked. The only job ive ever had is a part time one back when i was 17, but that was only a summer job for a few months. I have done some voluntary work at a homeless shelter and have done alot of academic work, such as hold a high position in my Universtitys History society, but other then that i don't have much experience on my CV, I know people will say get a job now, which i would try to do if i could, but i'm afraid that starting a new job now will distract me from my essays and my degree will suffer as a result, what can i do to overcome this, but still have enough time and focus for my uni work?

  • Answer:

Try and get any p/t work even if it's only at the weekends My sons all had p/t work throughout school and Uni and all got their degrees my youngest son graduated when he was only 19 and had worked p/t since he was 16 Any employer will look at your whole job application and that includes work in any capacity That's where experience comes from as it develops the person as an individual and also as a team member You gain enormous skills from working even if only 1/2 days a week Please don't use your degree work as an excuse, even in my day, I worked while at Uni and came out with a degree at age 20, and a graduate job straight away
