Do I have a better chance of getting hired?
-
I'm 17 and I'm now trying a second time to get a job at Best Buy. The first time, I had an interview there about 2 months ago but didn't get chosen for the job because they claimed they found somebody with more experience at the time. That same Best Buy just posted openings in all departments for regular positions today. I just put in an application for both Cashier and Sales Associate positions. The guy I currently work with now knew the manager at Best Buy and helped me get the interview, so I've talked to him plenty of times but haven't gotten the chance to meet him in person. I got interviewed by a different manager, but I'm pretty sure he'll remember me. How do I go about this so that I can score another interview and have a better chance of nailing the job? Do people usually have a higher chance of getting the job the second time they try for the interview?

Answer:
Well i would say you have a fair enough chance as anyone else.. The only thing in my opinion that CAN stop you from getting the job is experience.. but other than that have a great personality be good peoples person be able to communicate show them you would be a good worker and you should be good to go. Good Luck

You should stand a better chance at second interview just on the basis you have a better idea of what to expect. Make sure you prepare for the interview and put right the things you felt were not so good about the first interview. No, your chances of getting hired are directly proportionate to the number of qualified candidates. If you are the most qualified, then you get the job; if not, then you don't. Hope this helps.
We were looking at printers at Best Buy and when we asked a sales associate a question, his answer was to read the box. Did he have experience? I think not! It all depends on the competition against you when you apply and interview. If someone with experience applies, then they will have a better chance than you. Places like Best Buy like spunky go getter types. Smile, smile, smile and keep all your words as positive as you possibly can when you interview. Twist anything negative into a new opportunity to make things better. Attitude is 98% of the job there.
