What is the difference between Walmart and K-Mart?

Kmart or Walmart.....?

  • Ok...I need some help with this one because I can't decide which one I want ot work at. I've currently been working at Kmart overnight for 2 months now...it's ghetto as hell and we have no air conditioner, they turn it off at night...so it gets about 80 in there and it's going to be even worse in summer. I'm pretty much the only person there wokring in the clothing department. I'm part time with no hope of getting full-time, even though I'm working full-time hours. Kmart is a 15 minute drive from my house. I'm thinking about working overnight at Walmart...because Walmart actually has air conditioning and it's not in the ghetto. It's about a 20-25 minute drive from my house, but it's open 24 hours so I'd have to deal with customers, while Kmart is closed all night. My boyfriend also works overnight and on his lunch break he usually goes over to Walmart to buy lunch, so I'd get to see him for a few minutes evreynight. I work as a clothing stocker and folder...it's not fun but its a job for now. Has anyone here worked overnight at Walmart? I'm not sure what I want to do...can anyone help me with this decision? lol

    Do not quit your job at Kmart until you get a job at walmart. Walmart has more opportunity to progress. Plus, they have benefits where they will help you pay for higher education. Much better place to work for your future

I would change to Walmart. There's a tradeoff in scheduling but you get more perks and a nicer working environment. Those psychological aspects a very important, because you're going to be spending a long time there. KMart as a company does not hold a candle to Walmart, which is one of the richest companies in the world, and for a reason, because they know how to manage. That KMart sounds like the place where dreams go do die.
