What is a commissioned sales position?

I am thinking of applying for a commissioned sales position at At&t. I have never had a commission job though. Will I get hourly pay + a percentage for sales I make? Since this is commission, will I be eligible to get fired if I dont meet some type of selling quota? What is the difference between this job and a retail sales position?

Commission sales jobs are a percentage of your sales. Some are commission plus salary. I don't know what the one you're looking at is. Yes, you can always be fired but if you aren't making sales, you'll probably quit before getting fired. Commission sales jobs can be lucrative but until you are established, they are difficult and it is scary to think you might earn nothing. A retail sales job is an hourly or salary job at a retail store. Some of these have commission bonuses.

You will get paid hourly and commission is a + on everything you sell you would get paid extra. However some companies can fire you if you aren't meeting their sells quotas.
