Is being a cashier a bad job?

I am trying to decide between a job as a leasing consultant or a job as a cashier at Lowe's?

  • The leasing consultant job pays really well yet is in a really bad area at a really bad apartment complex that is FAR AWAY ( 35 minutes, almost an hour and a half in traffic ) and I have heard that the apartment has a bad rep. Also, I have heard that management doesn't ever stay very long.. I don't know if it's because they can't handle the job or the people who live there. The job at Lowe's is really close to my house (5 minutes away), yet I have no idea how much it pays and I won't have set hours or a stable job since I'd be hired for seasonal only. PLEASE HELP!

Why are these your only two choices? Before you decide I would advise that you take a few minutes to sit quietly and visualize how your would prefer your life to be - no limits here. What do you truly desire? Be very clear in your mind. What car are you driving, where do you live, what is your family life like, what are you wearing, etc? With this vision in mind now ask yourself what you need to do to get there. Do not look at either job as good or bad because they both offer each of these. Ask yourself which one will take me closer to my goal? With this you will have a much better idea of which one, if either one, is the better on for now and you will know why you are choosing it. Remember those who get what they want do not rely on circumstance to bring it to them. What you think about you bring about.
