How do I schedule a job interview?

Can i change my work schedule in a job interview?

  • I have a job interview tomorrow and the manager just called and said that i would be working fridays to sunday 5-12pm, however, i can only work from 5-9 on fridays and on saturday and sunday im available all day except for around 10 at night. Am i allowed to change my schedule around IF i get the job?

The answer to your question is that it all depends what the needs of the company are if the 5-12 PM shift is short handed then you either take it or leave it. You can make a request but I seriously doubt it will be approved again this shift has the open position for this time frame.. Typically employees who have some time at the company are given first priority relative to shifts. In the beginning new employees are often assigned to shifts that are not the most desirable. I would suggest, based upon millions of experienced and educated people out of work, that you attempt if possible to work the hours and make other arrangements to free up your schedule. I hope the reason you are unable to work the full hours of this shift is valid. In the future you can request a shift change when you earned your stripes i.e. have proven you are a good performer, no absences/lateness, positive attitude etc.Good Luck!!!

No. In the interview tell them what hours you are available.

Did you inform them of your availability prior to the interview being scheduled? If you did and they basically ignored it then you can certainly reiterate your work availability.

By agreeing to do the interview, you agreed to work from 5-12PM if hired. Why? They told you in advance what the schedule would be, and you want to have it changed to fit your personal needs. With so many people looking for work, they may just go with someone who can work the schedule that fits their business needs.
