How to get a job after being fired?

I don't want my job anymore- how can I get laided off but not "fired"?

  • I hate it here.... and I would like to find a new job but I can't without working all these crazy hours. Is there a way I could get laided off without getting fired? I would like to collect unemployment- finish my schooling and get a new job.

    you cannot collect unemployment if you are laid off and you go to school and are not actively looking for a job - you have to be looking and willing to accept any reasonable job offer and turning down such an offer can terminate your benefits immediately

If your company is laying people of you can talk to your manager to consider you first when next round of layoffs is discussed. Otherwise you can only be terminated ot you can end the employment contract by giving notice.

There's none that I'm aware of. Usually when you're laid off it's because something is going within the company, like down sizing. Perhaps you should speak with your supervisor regarding changing shifts, less hours, etc. In this economy do you really want to be unemployed? Just a question to really consider, best of luck to you
