What does "diversity" mean?

  • I have a Hollister interview and they always ask what does diversity mean to you. I need help I know they always ask how it affects when you work?? HELP !

    It means 'lots of different things'. In this context it could mean doing different types of jobs, one day this, the next day that, having multiple skills. It could mean working with different types of people, young, old, men, women, black, white ... etc Its good because it allows you to gain different skills and to express your talents in different ways. Great question. I tend to think about it as all the unique characteristics that make us who we are and distinguish us from each other. It can be age, gender, educational background, social background, economic background, culture, race or other defining characteristic. The idea behind diversity is to be comfortable around people who aren't like you and accept others for who they are regardless of whether they are different.

Diversity to me means being different, I like it because if we were all the same it would suck, it beings different cutlers together.
