Where are some places a 17-year-old can work?

Why can't I work 2 retail places? What places can I work while working at Walmart?

  • Was told it would be a conflict of interest by my boss to work there and target, asked others they said yeah you can't work two retails because they're competitors. But Walmart sells just about everything, does that mean I can't work at any other store? Like could I work at gamestop, petco (walmart sell pet stuff too), petsmart, etc.? What other kinds jobs are there for hourly pay? I can only think of waiter that wouldn't conflict me working at walmart.

    what happens if both places schedule you for the same days/hours? - neither one is going to be happy if you keep requesting schedule changes because of conflicts working 2 different retail jobs is almost impossible - the hours ALL retail stores need part timers teh most are eveninsg and weekends - YOU are not going to be able to say "I'll only work between 9 and 5 at this place" - you just won't get any hours at that place then - you have no control over what hours you will be given and part-timers rarely get any weekday daytime hours - especially new employees - daytime hours are for full timers and long term part-time workers with seniority
