You being eligible for the federal extension depends on a lot of things, but primarily the date you stopped working. If you left the service after May 2010, the deadline for federal extension eligibility, I think you're out of luck regarding being eligible for the federal extension. After being laid off I was eligible for unemployment in California for 20 weeks in March 2010. I was initially told that if I did not find a job by the time regular unemployment ran out, I would be receiving the federal extension. I even received a letter stating that I would be eligible for the federal extension. When I didn't find a job by the time the regular unemployment compensation ran out after 20 weeks, I did not receive an extension check. I called California's unemployment department ("EDD" or Employment Development Division) and I was told that the reason I did not receive a check was because I was NOT eligible for the federal extension in spite of the fact that I was initially told that I was. The reason I was given for not being eligible is that my earnings for the calendar quarter used to determine my eligibility for the federal extension were worker's compensation earnings not "regular" earnings and that workers' comp. earnings could not be used to satisfy the eligibility requirement. I think the best thing for you to do is to call you state's unemployment department and ask about your eligibility for the federal extension. And even, then, the information you receive could be incorrect.
Because every situation is different, it's not possible to tell you if you are eligible, or not. Contacting the unemployment office now and letting them explain what benefits you are eligible for, and how to apply for them would be the right thing to do.
EUC Level 1 provides up to 20 weeks or 80% of your obtain the most quantity from their original lack of employment maintain, whichever quantity is less. The individual must have had their initial maintain submitted May 7, 2006 or later and fatigued their regular lack of employment insurance benefits.
